The City Hall Sessions, supported by the National Lotteries Distribution Trust Fund (NLDTF) will be run regularly at the Cape Town City Hall in Darling Street, over a period of 18 months starting on 9 September 2011.
The programme will feature a multi-genre programme of music aimed at repositioning the City Hall as a place of diverse music – accommodating classical music, jazz, world music, choral and more. The programme is curated and produced by Steve Gordon of Making Music Productions and http://www.music.org.za
To find out more watch your local media including our media partner Independent Newspapers. You can also find out more about these concerts on our City Hall Facebook fan page, where you can also give us feedback on who you would like to see perform in future and what is needed to make City Hall a better concert venue.

Upcoming Events at Cape Town City Hall
City Hall, with its beautiful auditorium and atmospheric exhibition spaces, is one of Cape Town’s iconic cultural gems. Following on the highly successful Spier Contemporary held there in 2010, and the Imagine City Hall campaign, there has been growing citizen support for City Hall to become a dedicated cultural venue.
The City of Cape Town has allocated R7-million for renovation of this historic building and is looking at its future use. In response, Creative Cape Town has submitted a business plan and related research for the possible use of this venue as a cultural facility.
